Setting the Table

Wedding Decor Ideas

Mix and match the old with the new to create an original and unforgettable table setting. Pretty glass and mirrors reflect the colours you choose to style your event.

Inspired by the colours of spring and a multitude of pretty finds, stylist Heather Cameron combined the old with the new for an intimate table setting. Vintage plates and Moroccan tea glasses are accessorized with beautiful mirrored frames (these make the perfect wedding favour) and delicate glass cloches (bells).

Other favour ideas are the pretty lavender cake candles or jewelled floral name holders. Mauve hyacinths combined with the green viburnum in our champagne flutes complement the colour of the room and bring the table alive. Simple mixtures of one to three kinds of flowers make a stronger statement than a big jumble of colours.

If you are not lucky enough to find the perfect mauve room, bring in a centrepiece of pretty lilacs, add a coloured overlay to your table or start collecting the perfect mixture of coloured dishes. These ideas could easily apply to the wedding tables, the shower or a luncheon with the bridesmaids. Use one of these ideas or use them all but be creative and have fun.
