sillouetteEarlier this week, our Publisher and Managing Editor attended a media and tourism event at La Maison Du Quebec at Concord Place. We enjoyed delicious food, met new people, and were entertained by performers uniquely francophone.

foodOur evening began with an abundance of treats, from Quebec cheeses, to mini creme brulees, maple tartlets, and mini pots of creamy lobster catered by Hôtel Château Laurier Québec. As we noshed, sipped, and mingled, we were treated to a short performance by  members of Les 7 doigts de la main (The 7 Fingers of the Hand), an acrobatics troupe founded in 2002 by friends who had performed in companies such as Cirque du Soleil,  Teatro Zinzanni, or trained together at Montreal’s National Circus School.

As the sun went down, Drummondville pop-rockers Les Trois Accords came onstage with their straight up catchy harmonies and energy. Since their first album in 2003, this foursome has gained a loyal following of fellow french-canadians; partway into their set, the general public that had been patiently waiting behind a gate filled the floor. One very enthusiastic young man even buddied up to our Publisher, putting his arm around him while yelling “Je t’aime! Je t’aime!”

Thank you to our host, the Quebec Minister of Tourism, Madame Nicole Ménard, for sharing with us a slice of Quebec. It truly seems like a province where visitors can experience a bit of European sensibility through it’s rich history and diverse arts, food, and culture.
